Nativity: Native to Sonora and southern Arizona; reaches northern edge of range in SE Arizona.
Ecology: Occurs in rocky slopes, desert foothills, and washes; hummingbird-attracting flowers.
Elevation: 2,500 – 5,000 ft
Size: 2–4 ft tall and wide
Flowering duration: March – November
Sun/Shade preference: Full sun to part shade
Foliage duration: Evergreen perennial in mild winters, semi-deciduous in colder areas
