Viguiera parishii var. deltoidea (Parish’s Goldeneye)
Nativity: Native to the Sonoran Desert of southern Arizona and northern Mexico, including the Tucson region.
Ecology: Found on rocky slopes, desert uplands, and along washes. Bright yellow, sunflower-like blooms attract a wide range of native bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. Seeds may also be used by birds, adding additional wildlife value.
Elevation: 2,000 – 4,500 ft
Size: Upright perennial to subshrub, typically 2–4 ft tall and 2–3 ft wide
Flowering Duration: Late summer through fall, often blooming in response to monsoon rains
Sun/Shade Preference: Full sun
Foliage Duration: Semi-evergreen; may die back in winter or during extended drought
