Nativity: Native to southern Arizona and northern Mexico, including the Tucson region. Common in foothills and upland desert areas.
Ecology: Found on rocky slopes, canyons, and well-drained soils. This fast-growing shrub produces vibrant yellow, daisy-like flowers that attract native bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. Its strongly aromatic foliage helps deter herbivory, making it a tough, low-maintenance choice.
