Product Details
Nativity: Native to the southern U.S.—including Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico—and northern Mexico. It is not native to Arizona, although it performs well in Arizona landscapes.
Ecology: A small, drought-tolerant shrub adapted to dry, rocky and limestone soils. Its dense purple flowers provide nectar and pollen for bees, butterflies, and other insects; it is also a larval host for the Dogface butterfly.
Elevation: Not well established in the sources I found
Size: 1–3 ft tall × 1–3 ft wide
Flowering duration: Summer–fall; typically July–October
Sun/Shade preference: Full sun
Foliage duration: Deciduous to semi-evergreen; in Tucson it is generally bare or mostly bare during winter.
