Nativity: Native to the Chihuahuan Desert of the southwestern United States and northern Mexico, including western Texas and portions of Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango, and Zacatecas.

Ecology: A distinctive, drought-adapted succulent that forms dense clumps of slender, upright, wax-coated stems. It naturally grows on dry, rocky and limestone slopes and provides small flowers that attract bees, flies, and other pollinating insects.

Elevation: Approximately 2,000–5,000 ft

Size: Typically 1–3 ft tall × 2–3 ft wide

Flowering duration: Spring–summer, with additional flowering possible following rainfall
