Cordia parvifolia (Little-leaf Cordia)
Nativity: Native to the Sonoran Desert of southern Arizona and northern Mexico, including the Tucson region.
Ecology: Found on rocky slopes, desert uplands, and well-drained soils. This dense, twiggy shrub provides excellent cover for birds and small wildlife. Showy flowers, cold hardy, flowers are eaten by rabbits & desert tortoise, tough plant, attracts butterflies
Elevation: 1,000 – 4,000 ft
Size: Large dense, rounded shrub, typically 6-8 ft tall and wide
Flowering Duration: Spring through fall, often blooming after rains
Sun/Shade Preference: Full sun
Foliage Duration: Evergreen; maintains structure and cover year-round
